: Mitchell Benson, CPA, MT, CFF is a Partner at Savran Benson, LLP, a regional tax, consulting, and accounting firm in Bala Cynwyd, having begun his career at (as they are known now) PwC and Deloitte. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and earned a Master’s in Taxation from Villanova University. He specializes in income taxation of individuals and partnerships, with a particular focus on real estate, higher net worth families’, and their estate and trust planning. He provides strategic planning on complex partnership transactions, asset dispositions, real estate purchases and operations, and compliance issues facing businesses and individuals. As a multi-generational advisor, he is a frequent organizer and participant in family meetings collaborating with advisors to best communicate financial and tax outcomes.
In the community, Mr. Benson has held leadership roles such as Board Chair of Big Brothers/Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Independence Region (Philadelphia and seven counties), Board Chair of the BBBS Montgomery County Chapter, and President of Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El. Presently, he serves on Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Endowment and Social Responsibility committees, the Risk Management and Finance committees of BBBS Independence Region, and Audit committees for both Hanover Fire and Casualty Insurance and GBS/CIBD Foundation. Mitchell’s dedication to Big Brothers Big Sisters is also reflected through his commitments as a Big Brother himself; he is currently mentoring his fifth Little Brother. Additionally, he is a co-division chair of Israel Bonds’ Legal and Financial Services division and an Endowment Trustee at Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El.
Mitchell is married to Bonnie. Their daughter Nicole (Paul) is married to Zach and their son Scott is engaged to be married to Jenifer Greene. They are the proud grandparents of Lilah Paul.
