Sharon A. Kates, CPA

Sharon Kates joined Savran Benson in 2025. She is a Certified Public Accountant with a strong background in tax compliance, audit, and financial reporting. Her work focuses on individual, estate, and partnership taxation, combining technical precision with a deep understanding of client needs.

Before joining Savran Benson, Sharon worked at BDO USA P.C., where she contributed to firmwide initiatives in tax automation and process improvement. Her experience spans a wide range of industries and tax structures, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on complex tax matters.

Sharon holds a Master of Science in Accounting from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from Boston University. She is a licensed CPA and an active member of the AICPA. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, coding, language learning, and volunteering with organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
